Dale A. Hayes, Esq.

Mr. Hayes is a member of the California Bar and State Bar of Nevada. He is a native Las Vegan, graduating with a degree in finance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1984.  Thereafter, he attended law school at the McGeorge School of Law and obtained a juris doctor with distinction in 1987. Mr. Hayes has been a practicing attorney since 1988. After passing the bar, Mr. Hayes practiced law with a long-time friend in a well-established boutique law firm in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The client base of the firm was diverse and included prominent companies doing business in the state of Nevada as well as prominent individuals. While working with the firm, Mr. Hayes represented Hotels owned by Summa Corporation.  Howard Hughes designated the Summa Corporation for the operation of his interests in the hotel and casino business.  The hotels and casinos consisted of the Sands Hotel & Casino, Frontier Hotel & Casino, Landmark Hotel & Casino, Castaways Hotel & Casino, Desert Inn Hotel & Casino and the Silver Slipper Casino.  Mr. Hayes also represented the Horseshoe Hotel & Casino as well as the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino.  It was during the representation of these hotels & casinos Mr. Hayes developed his legal knowledge and skill in cases involving the defense of premises liability claims (slip & falls, assault & battery, false imprisonment etc.), defense of workers compensation claims, defense of labor law and unemployment claims, defense of wrongful termination claims, defense of sexual harassment claims and defense of civil rights claims.  Mr. Hayes successfully tried numerous cases in state and federal court both bench and jury trials as well as prosecuted numerous administrative hearings obtaining favorable results for his clients while with this firm.

Armed with the skills outlined above, Mr. Hayes began practicing law with a medium size law firm in Las Vegas. For approximately 30 years Mr. Hayes remained with this firm ultimately becoming a shareholder and director.  Mr. Hayes was named the head of the insurance defense practice while with this firm. During this time, Mr. Hayes defended the interests of the insureds of numerous insurance companies including: CSE Insurance, Country Companies Insurance, Baldwin & Lyons Insurance, Protective Insurance, St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance and Zurich Insurance. The aforementioned insurance companies insureds had a wide variety of legal issues requiring competent and skillful legal representation including the defense of motor vehicle and trucking accidents, defense of dog bite cases, defense of assault and battery claims, error and omission claims arising from real estate transactions, fraud and conspiracy claims against real estate brokers and agents as well as breach of contract and breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing claims. Mr. Hayes successfully tried cases in both federal and state court as well as cases assigned to mandatory arbitration involving these legal issues.

It was while practicing with this firm, Mr. Hayes expanded his practice to include Commercial Litigation. The practice of commercial litigation generally involves companies and individuals who are involved in a dispute over a business issue that could not be amicably resolved so the dispute resulted in litigation. Mr. Hayes has had numerous trials both jury and bench in these types of cases which resulted in a favorable decision on behalf of his clients.

During his years of practice Mr. Hayes utilized the knowledge and legal skill he developed trying cases from the defense perspective to expand his practice as a Las Vegas personal injury attorney and focus on personal injury cases for plaintiffs. This came after being a successful criminal defense attorney and focusing as a Las Vegas DUI lawyer for many years, among other areas of practice. In March of 2001, Mr. Hayes and other experienced attorneys from Nevada and Florida founded the Nursing Home Justice Center (NHJC). The focus of the NHJC related to issues of the elderly and vulnerable adults and adolescents who had been placed in nursing homes or treatment centers and were neglected or abused.  Mr. Hayes representation of the neglected and abused while practicing with the NHJC resulted in multimillion-dollar settlements against nursing homes in Nevada. Mr. Hayes also successfully tried before a jury a case against a nursing home involving abuse which resulted in the wrongful death of the resident.  The verdict returned was in the high six figures. Mr. Hayes expansion in to personal injury plaintiff claims resulted in the successful prosecution on behalf of the plaintiff cases of medical malpractice, slip and falls as well as trip and falls, motor vehicle accidents, truck accidents, false imprisonment claims, assault and battery claims, defamation claims, as well as real estate litigation claims.

Mr. Hayes has three children, Amber, Dale Jr. and Jamie.  The majority of his spare time is devoted to golf, the beach and his grandchildren.
